Deposition of aerosol particles on overhead line insulators poses a threat to system reliability by altering their dielectric properties and increasing risk of surface flashovers, particularly under humid conditions. Pollution deposition is governed by factors such as particle characteristics, surface properties, and local airflow and modelling these processes enables improved management of surface contamination risk.
