DATES & REGISTRATION
The 2009 WORLD CONGRESS will start on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 08:00 and conclude on Wednesday, May 13 at 18:00.
Registration and pick-up of badges as well as Conference materials will take place on Sunday, May 10 between 13:00 and
18:00 and continue again on Monday, May 11 from 07:00 to 09:00.
GROUND TRANSPORT TO HOTEL
Delegates to this event arriving at the international airport in Heraklion on either Saturday, May 9 or Sunday May 10
only will be offered complimentary shuttle bus service to the Creta Maris/Terra Maris Hotel & Conference Centre (approx.
30 minutes). Congress staff at the airport will welcome arriving delegates and direct them to buses, which will depart on
a regular schedule. Delegates planning to arrive before May 9 are advised to take an airport taxi or make their own
arrangements for pick-up.
VENUE & HOTEL
The 2009 WORLD CONGRESS (Conference as well as PRODUCT & TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION) will take place at the
large Congress Center of the Creta Maris Hotel, located in Hersonisos
Special arrangements have been made for attendees to this event to reserve hotel rooms at the beautiful Creta Maris and
adjoining Terra Maris Hotels. Those planning to attend this event are urged to make their hotel reservations before April 1, 2009 if possible to ensure availability of rooms.

WELCOME RECEPTION
All persons duly registered for this event will receive an invitation to participate, without cost, at a special Welcome
Reception scheduled for Sunday, May 10 at 20:00 in the outdoor pool and garden area of the Creta Maris Hotel,
overlooking the Mediterranean. Beverages, hot and cold canapés as well as entertainment will be provided.
TECHNICAL VISITS
Registered delegates will be offered the opportunity for local site visits directly relating to the technical content of this
event, including a tour of a fully-coated substation, an insulator test station directly on the Mediterranean and a wind
farm. More details of the availability and timing of these technical visits will be available starting January 2009.
GALA DINNER
An optional Gala Dinner Evening will be offered to attendees on Tuesday, May 12 starting at 19:00. The cost of tickets for this gala evening will include the dinner, all beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as entertainment.
PROGRAM FOR SPOUSES
The island of Crete is a truly magical place with many beautiful and historically-interesting places to visit. A comprehensive special two-day program (May 11 & 12) will be offered to spouses/partners of attendees and will include guided tours in a private bus.
